Superlative and comparative
Mexican geography

Comparative:

The state of Chihuahua is more big that the country of Tlaxcala.
The river Bravo is more big long that river Papaloapan.
The beach of Acapulco is more beautiful that the beach of Huatulco.

Superlative:

Which state is more extensive: Sonora, Monterrey or Oaxaca?
Which state is hotter: Veracruz, Sonora or Sinaloa?
Which state is more rainy: Chiapas, Veracruz or Oaxaca?

  1. Aby, to compare use "than" NOT "that". For some words, which are short words we use the -er ending instead of more. For example,

    The state of Chihuahua is bigger than the country of Tlaxcala.
    The Rio Bravo is longer than the Papaloapan River .
    The beach of Acapulco is more beautiful than the beach of Huatulco.

  2. For superlatives, we use THE and -EST or THE + MOST instead of more - than or -ER - than.

    Which state is THE HOTTEST?
    Which state is THE MOST Extensive?
    Which state is THE RAINIEST?

    Extensive is a long word with lots of syllables so it is easier and more comfortable to say the most extensive instead of
    the extensivest.
